Western Regional Championship

On Saturday and Sunday the 28 and 29th of September, Mutant sponsored a championship race at Hollister Hills Grand Prix racetrack. It was a two-day event. There were two motos each day with a total of four motos per race. I was very excited to race. My goals were to clear the uphill double and a tabletop. In both races I was dead last. But this was my fourth race ever, and I have been riding for about 3 months so I am just learning. I think I did well. I had two goals and I completed the uphill double.

I had been trying to reach my two goals for a little while. Finally, I woke up the morning of the race and told myself, "I'm going for it." I knew I could do it but I was nervous. Saturday and Sunday I kept trying and trying but I couldn't clear the jumps. Finally at the end of the day on Sunday, my uncle and dad stood right in front of the uphill double and just gave me the "Gas It" sign. I knew I had to go for it, Thwack, I had made it!

For my second goal, clearing the double, well that was different. I kept getting close but I couldn't do it. At the last moto, I got really close but I was casing it. Every time bam, bam, bam. So I got close but I never totally cleared it. But I think I did well for me.

Even though I didn't beat anyone, I still feel that I personally did well. Since I was on my cousin's bike I had to race in the modified class. So I didn't have much chance to beat anyone anyway. But I was a champion on my own personal goals. Number one I cleared the up hill double. I also felt like I rode very well, and I only fell once out of all my four motos. I am very happy I did well.
