Sunday, Jan 20, 2008 Well, the 2008 AMP Winter Motocross Series is here again, and the rider turnout for the first round was great. The oatfield raceway pits were packed to full capacity, always a good sign. With the long time off for the holidays, everyone was ready to go racing. So lets start with the young folks. We have two new riders racing with us, Tim Olsen, #202, and Jimmy Bonnema, #367. Both riders race the 250 and 450 Novice classes with Eric Zepp. Eric had his best race in the 450 class where he placed 5th in the first moto and top ten in the second. Both Tim and Jimmy rode well but were plagued by mistakes, and ended up racing the second division for moto two. The 250 class was a different story. Tim blasted an awesome holeshop, with Eric tucked in behind him, but Eric got bounced around through the first couple of turns, and ended up in the second half of the pack by the time he got to the start triple. Eric rode well but was unable to make up many positions in the 4 lap race. All three ended up racing Div 2 of the three division class. In the intermediate class, we had Chris Spiers, #818. Chris raced Schoolboy, 250 Int, and 450 Int. Chris rode very well on the day, but was unable to get the starts needed to perform to the level that he is expecting for himself. Chris ended up 2nd in Schoolboy, 5th in the 250 class, and 6th in the 450 class. 2008 is going to be the year we turn our starts around. The ability to start well is the most important skill a serious rider can have. So what about the old guys? Joe Spiers and Jim Zepp showed up a little rusty, but with lots of enthusiasm. It has been some time since Joe has raced, and while he rode well, his lack of riding showed in his conditioning. Joe raced +35 Exp and +40 Exp. The only guy he had to beat for first place in both classes was Rodney Smith. Oh, well, maybe he can win at the next round. Jim Zepp, racing +25 Beginner, also rode well, but was plagued with bad starts. Jim was, though, able to clear the giant step up at Oatfield. Way to go Jim! We would like to thank all the sponsors who support us at the races. Shift Racing, Shoei, Dubach Racing Development, Mada, Acerbis, and Scott USA. We would also like to give special thanks to two sponsors that are always there for us. Al Posey of Posey Racing, and Morgan and Alex at BR1 Suspension. Thanks for all your support through the years.

Eric Zepp #757 was also slated to race this year, but suffered a broken collarbone the day before he was to leave for Mammoth. Needless to say, Eric was very disappointed.
Day One - Big Bike Practice
The day was spent getting both bikes and riders acclimated to the altitude. All went well for the most part, except for Ricky Rinauro #623. Ricky had a hard get-off after the downhill and ended up breaking his arm and getting pretty badly burned.

Day Two - Schoolboy, Open, and Womens Races
Schoolboy
In the main, Blake Jump fell hard and blew his shoulder out. Jonathan Davis rode strong for a 6th place finish, while Chris Spiers, with a rear flat, rode to an impressive 8th place finish. Tyler Persons finished it out with a 20th. Way to go guys!

I would like to put out a special thanks to all the folks that make Mammoth Motocross happen. Far and away the best run race in which we have ever participated. We would like to thank all our sponsors who support us at the races. Fringe Gear, Mada, and Scott USA. We would also like to give special thanks to two sponsors that are always there for us. Al Posey of Posey Racing, and Alex at BR1 Suspension. Thanks for all your support through the years.
Sunday, May 27, 2007 Eric Zepp, #757, had his own issues he was having to deal with. After blowing his motor in his 125 prior to the Amateur Days of the Hangtown Nationl, Eric was forced to finish out the AMP series riding his dad's YZ250F, missing the remainder of the 125 only races. Eric was still able to retain 2nd overall in the series. Nice cup, Eric! Daniel Zepp, #736, came back to the sport this series after about a year away, and continues to show progress. I look forward to seeing him on the podium in the fall. And last but not least, Jim Zepp clinched 4th overall in the +30 Beg class. Go Jim! We would like to thank all the sponsors who support us at the races. Fringe Gear, Mada, and Scott USA. We would also like to give special thanks to two sponsors that are always there for us. Al Posey of Posey Racing, and Morgan and Alex at BR1 Suspension. Thanks for all your support through the years.
Sunday, Mar 18, 2007 Lets start with new classes. AMP has now officially changed the names of the classes, to match the change in the bike sizes, now that the four-strokes have taken over. There is a 125 class, a 250 class, and a 450 class. The 125 class is now just that, 125s only. The 250 class is now open to 125s, 250Fs, and 250 two strokes. And the 450 class open to everything except 125s. Eric Zepp moved up to the 125 class last series, riding a YZ 125. The bigger news though is that Eric, after dominating his first series in the beginner class, has moved up to the Novice class for the AMP 2007 Spring Series.Congratulations Eric, you have come a long way. Eric raced 125 Nov and 250 Nov, with the standing challenge that he was going to holeshot Chris Spiers on their first gate together. Well, that opportunity did not present itself, as they were in assigned two different gates. The 250 class was a bit of an eye openner for Eric. A lot more speed in the Novice class than the beginner class. His first moto finish put him in the second division for the second moto, where he ultimately finished mid-pack. Eric faired much better in the 125 Nov class. A 5th place in the first moto, followed by a 3rd in the second moto for a 3rd overall. Not bad. Chris Spiers, #818, has also been steadily progressing through the last series, and really hit his stride in the last few races. Well, Chris destroy the novice competition in the first round of the AMP 2007 Spring Series. Four holeshots, four moto wins. Enough said. Next week he will be racing as an intermediate. School boy went almost as well. One holeshot, a 4th in the first moto and a 2nd in the second moto earned him a 2nd overall. Needless to say, Chris was pretty proud of himself, and was the buzz of the pits. Congratulations to you, too, Chris. You have worked very hard to arrive at this point. So what is next? Only time will tell. Join us next week as we race at The Oatfield Raceway for round 2 of the AMP 2007 Spring Series. We would like to thank all the sponsors who support us at the races. Fringe Gear, BR1 Suspension, Scott USA and last, but curtainly not least, Posey Racing. Thanks Al for offering your support, and sharing your wisdom.
Sunday, Oct 08, 2006 This year's racers included Joe Spiers, #734, racing Vet Expert and +25 Expert. Chris Spiers, #818, racing 125 Only Nov, Schoolboy, and 125 Nov. Eric Zepp, #757, racing 85 14-15 years Stock and Mod. Jim Zepp's accident a couple weeks earlier kept him from racing this years event. Joe Spiers, #734, ran as well as could be expected given that he has not been riding much over the past several months. That being said, he still raced with a smile on his face, and was able to come away with a 2nd overall in the Vet Expert class, and a 3rd overall in the +25 Expert class. Chris Spiers, #818, came in to this years event with high expectations. But while he road well while he was able, injuries, a few poor starts, and a couple of crashes, kept him from accomplishing the results that he was working towards. He was able to capture an 8th overall in the 125 Only Nov class. A killer start in the second moto helped him capture a 3rd place moto finish. In the highly competitive Schoolboy class, he was able to make the main and finish mid pack. His best moto finish in Schoolboy was a 10th. In his second Schoolboy moto, Chris sustained a lower back injury that kepted him from competing further in the 125 Nov class, very disappointing. Chris was able to make a partial recovery and compete in the final 125 Only and Schoolboy classes, though he had to ride with a lot of pain, not fun! Eric Zepp had his best national event to date. Good starts and strong riding enabled Eric to capture a 3rd overall in the 85cc 14-15 Stock class and a 5th overall in the 85cc 14-15 Mod class. Way to go Eric! While Jim Zepp didn't compete in any of the races, he did compete in the Texas Holdem Poker tournament. He killed his table in the first round of play, capturing all the chips on the table, enable ing him to move to the final round of play. In the final round, the cards weren't going his way, and he ended up 8th, winning $50! All and all, it was a great weekend for zetta|racing. We would like to thank all the sponsors who support us at the races. Fringe Gear, zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, Creative Graphix, Renthal, ASV Inventions, SixSixOne, Scott USA and Michelin.
Sunday, Sep 10, 2006 Eric Zepp (757) was primed to win the overall in the 85 Beg division, with a strong ride and a win in the first moto. The second moto mid-pack start was to much to overcome though, and he was never able to recover and catch the leader. Eric had to settle for 2nd overall, a hard pill to swallow.
Chris Spiers (818) worked on finding his groove on the 125. After a weekend of getting beat up by his suspension in the first round of the series, Morgan over at BR1 Suspension worked his magic on the bike during the week prior to round two. After practice day was over, Chris' comments regarding the suspension was, "Perfect!"
Chris' best finish was a 2nd in the 125 Only Nov class. Chris road well all but one of his motos, but was continuesly held back by his poor starts. Chris is the "King of Suck" when it come to starts. We will be working on that until it is fixed.
Ian (144), on the other hand had some great starts in the 125 Beg class. Ian road well and shows promise. We will keep working with him to increase his speed.
All and all it was another good weekend for zetta|racing. The only real mishap of the weekend was Joe Spiers (734) blowing out his lower triple clamp, ending his riding for the weekend early. But other than that, we ended up with two trophies, has some good times and enjoyed some excellent food.
Til next weekend. zetta|racing would like to thank all the sponsors who support them at the races. Fringe Gear, zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, Creative Graphix, Renthal, ASV Inventions, SixSixOne, Scott USA and Michelin.
Sunday, Sep 03, 2006 Zettaracing would like to thank all the sponsors who support them at the races. Fringe Gear, zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, Creative Graphix, Renthal, ASV Inventions, SixSixOne, Scott USA and Michelin.
It has been a while since Joe Spiers(734) has raced, or really even ridden for that matter, but in light of the track conditions, and the excitement of the moment, he decided to race, 30 expert and 40 expert. The rest of the team likes it when he races. Anyway, he said it felt really good to be out there again, even if he didn't do as well as he had in the past. "I could feel it though, I just need to train."
Chris Spiers(818), has moved out of the 85 class and up to the 125 class. He raced 125 Nov, 125 only Nov, and Schoolboy, and while he got pushed around a bit, he showed that he is ready for the new class.
Eric Zepp's (757) time has come. He is ready to dominate the 85 beginner class. he road well and showed lots of speed and determination. He just need to work on his endurance, and the championship is his.
Jim Zepp(307), our +40 Nov, is getting more and more comfortable with every time out on the bike. It won't be long before he is whipping it over jumps.
Next week we are at Oatfield, the kids favorite track. Til then…
Thursday, May 18, 2006 Chris Spiers raced two classes this year, the 85cc B class and the 125 C class. Chris experienced his first full gate start in the 125 class, and got through with mid pack starts in both motos. Chris "survived" the first lap in both motos, not getting involved in the many accidents that occurred, and went on to finish out both motos with some very strong riding for an 8th overall on the day. Not bad Chris. In the 85cc B class, Chris had high asperation that didn't pan out. Mediocre starts and a crash in the second moto left him with a 6th overall on the day. In the 85cc C class, Eric Zepp had another outrageous day, getting strong starts and riding smooth in both motos for a 7th overall. Eric is definitely on a roll. As for the older guys, Joe Spiers and Jim Zepp where content with getting their racing feet back under them. Joe ended up 7th overall in +30 A and 6th overall in +40 A. Two aquaintances to the zettaracing team, Arik Swan and Adam "Flea" Miller, made their first profesional attempts as privateers at this year's Hangtown Classic. And while they made it through Saturday's qualifiers to the Sunday show, they where unable to qualify for the main event, with Adam missing by only one position. We as a team are very proud of these guys as they pursue their dreams as professional privateers. Not a task for the week of heart. We wish them the best of luck and all the support we can offer. Zettaracing would like to thank all the sponsors who support them at the races. Fringe Gear, zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, Creative Graphix, Renthal, ASV Inventions, SixSixOne, Stomp Design, Scott USA and Michelin.
Sunday, May 07, 2006 Chris Spiers also had an excellent day. While unable to race the 85 Int class after lossing the transmission in his Yamaha YZ85, Chris rode strong in the Supermini class to take the overall with a 1-3. Chris also improved his results in the 125 Only Nov class, with a third overall. Chris also raced the Schoolboy class for the first time, and, shall we say, got schooled. Definitely some fast riders. It will give him something new to work towards.
Sunday, Apr 30, 2006 With the addition of Chris' new ride, comes the opportunity to ride new classes. While Chris is still focused primarily on the smaller bike, racing the 85 Int class and the Supermini class, he is also riding the 125 Only Nov class. Chris ended up with a third overall in the 125 Only Nov class, a 2nd overall in the Supermini class, and a crash in the second moto of the 85 Int class left him with a 4th overall in that class. Eric Zepp felt the long time off. A lack of good starts took its toll on Eric's day, but was still able to claim a 5th overall in the 85 Beg class.

Sunday, Sep 11, 2005 Jim Zepp was the results leader of the team with a 2nd in the +30 Beg class and a 3rd in the +25 Beg class. Eric Zepp ended up 6th overall in the 85 Beg Div 1 class. Zettaracing would like to thank all the sponsors who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, Creative Graphix, Renthal, ASV Inventions, SixSixOne, Stomp Design, Scott USA and Michelin.
Monday, Sep 05, 2005 Well things did not quite turn out as planned. A flooded motorhome, multiple flat tire changes, and a clutch repair dampened day one of racing. Everyones results were not to bad for the most part. Sayre Henderson had a helacious crash off of one of the downhill jumps, taking him out of the race, and sending him to division 2 for the race the following day. Both Eric and Daniel Zepp rode well and made the Division 1 cut in the 85 Beg Class. Chris Spiers raced his first AMP 85 Int race, as well 85 Open and Supermini. While he rode well, he ended up with mixed results due to crashes. Joe Spiers raced his first +30 and +40 Exp classes at AMP, rode tight, but was able to come away with respectable finishes, 2nd in both classes. Jim Zepp was getting his moto feet back under him, but was smiling as always in his +25 and +35 beginner classes. Day two was better for everyone but Joe Spiers. Joe, while in the chase for the lead in his +30 Exp Class, lost his front wheel over corner jump, went down hard on his shoulder and ended up breaking his collarbone. Out for the series. He is hoping to be ready for the Dodge Amatuer nationals, but only time will tell. Sayre Henderson destroyed the Division 2 class, he could have definitely won the Div 1 class. Way to go Sayre. Eric Zepp ended up taking 5th overall in the Div 1 class and Daniel Zepp was just happy to have made the Div 1 cut. Jim Zepp had a much better day, and even got the holeshot in the +25 Beg class, way to go Jim! Next week is Oakfield, everyones favorite track. We look to have better results there.
Wednesday, Jun 22, 2005 Lets start with the vet days. Joe Spiers ran the Senior Expert class, running the prestigious yellow number plates. Practice day was very cool as we were in between Jeremy McGrath, Troy Lee, and Jeff Ward in the pits. The track was exceptional, but it was quite windy. The weather mellowed and co-operated for the races. Joe Spiers, #734, had two motos of ten laps each both Saterday and Sunday. He progressed well over the course of the weekend as he captured 17th, 15th, 13th, and a 12th, for 13th overall. Not bad for a first timer in the expert class. The weather was even nicer for the minis, nothing but crisp blue mountain skies. Chris Spiers, #818, rode well in both the Supermini and 85cc 12-13 classes against some of the fastest kids in the nation. Chris was able to qualify for the mains in both classes, both days. He captured a 27th in the Supermini class and a 25th in the 85cc class. Go CW! Eric Zepp, #757, ran the 85cc 14-15 class and had some good battles with Sam Osheroff, #106, and Zackari Eastland, #91. Eric ended up 23rd for the event. Daniel Zepp, #736, got to take his crack at the Mammoth track for the first time and loved it. Needless to say you couldn't peel the smile of of his face. Daniel ran the 65cc 9-11 class and ended up 33rd on the week. Zettaracing would like to thank the town of Mammoth Lakes for putting on such a fun event as well as all the sponsors who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Friday, May 20, 2005 Eric and Daniel Zepp were also in the 80 C Div I class, Daniels first 80 race ever! Eric got off to top five starts both motos, but crashes in the first moto and getting tangled with another bike in the second moto put an end to any trophy hopes. Daniel on the other hand was just happy to survive his first 80 race, and at one point even lead his brother, priceless. Joe Spiers was bumped to the A class after winning the +40 B class last year. Joe came away with a 12th overall in the +30 A class, and a 7th overall in the +40 class. Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, Renthal, ASV Inventions, SixSixOne, Excel and Stomp Design.
Sunday, Apr 03, 2005 Chris Spiers has been training all winter long and it showed as he rode strong races in all three of his races; 85 Nov, 85 Open 12 - 16, and Supermini. Chris missed third place trophies across the board by having to settle for a 4th in the Supermini class. Daniel Zepp had an equally good day. After a poor start in is first 65 Beg moto, he charged back and put himself in a position to be able to capture the third place trophy in the second moto, where he was 2nd. The 85 Beg class was filled with zettaracing members. Eric Zepp, Shane Artau, and Paul Artau. In addition to them, several more of their friends from school where out racing for the first time ever. Needless to say, it was a lot of fun. Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, Oct 17, 2004 Joe Spiers was fast before it got muddy, beating the entire field of intermediate and expert riders in the +40 class. Joe continued to take 1st again in the +40 Int class, and 1st overall for the series. The +30 Int class was another story. It had been raining for awhile by the time this moto came around, and the track was a mess. After falling three time, Joe limped off the track in last place. Joe game back strong for in the second moto, taking 2nd, and captured 2nd in the series in the +30 Int class.
Daniel Zepp had a tremendous first moto in the 60 Beg class, taking 2nd, his best finish ever. the second moto, however, was not as enjoyable. Daniel was swallowed up by the mud, and could do nothing right. Daniel finished the race very frustrated with himself, but that soon melted away as he learned that he had captured 4th overall fin the series. Congratulations Daniel.
Christopher Spiers, was plague again by bad starts and crashes. There is a saying, "If you aren't crashing, you aren't pushing yourself and you aren't learning." Christopher is hoping that his "learning" will pay off soon.
Jim Zepp also fell victim to the mud this weekend, but always finished with a smile. Jim was unable to race his last moto, as he had to take his son, Eric, to the hospital for x-rays.
This was not Eric's weekend. After blowing-up his transmission in Sunday morning practice, changes his classes around so that he could ride his cousin Christopher's bike, Eric proceeded to break his finger in his last moto. Eric will be out for six weeks.
Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, Oct 10, 2004 Christopher Spiers, though riding well, and finally clearing the uphill triple, was plague by bad starts. Eric and Jim Zepp's riding is starting to show real improvement. Eric cleared the large step-up, and Jim was really charging the woops. Next week is the final round of the Fall series. Joe Spiers is in contention for two first place finishes, and Daniel zepp is currently in fourth, on position from the podium. Good luck guys. Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, Oct 03, 2004 zettaracing came away from the event with three awards. Daniel Zepp captured his first national award, 10th in the 60 9-11 Mod Class, while Joe Spiers captured a 2nd in the +30 Int class and a 9th in the 125 Nov Mod class. Christopher Spiers lost the transmission in his YZ85 on practice day, and had to ride a new YZ85 without any suspension mods for his classes. His best performance came in the 85 12-13 Mod class where he placed 11th, one position out of awards. Eric Zepp placed in the low 20's in both the 85 12-13 Stock and Mod classes. Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, Sep 19, 2004 Joe Spiers was starting to show some of his old speed in the +40 Int class where he easily took wins in both motos. The +30 Int class was a different story. Stiff competition and poor riding on Joe's part left him near the end of the pack. As for the zettaracing groms, Christopher Spiers was able to muster a 3rd in the 80 Open Div II class, Daniel Zepp fell prey to multiple crashes in his two 60 Beg motos, and Eric finished mid-pack in both of his 80 Beg motos. Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, Sep 12, 2004 Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, Sep 05, 2004 While no one rode spectacular, everyone had their moments throughout the day. Joe Spiers ended up 1st in the +40 Int class and 5th in the +30 Int Class. Christopher Spiers ended up 2nd on the day in the 80 Open Div II class. Daniel Zepp ended up top 10 in the 65 Beg class, and Eric Zepp top 20 in the 80 Beg Div I class. Jim Zepp road well in the +30 Beg and +40 Nov classes. Next week zettaracing is off to race AMP National Track at Prairie City, home of the Hangtown National! Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Wednesday, Jun 23, 2004 Zettaracing came to Mammoth with high hopes, and had moment of brilliance, moments of frustration, and moments of fear. The week started out with the Vet races. Practice went well and Joe Spiers was able to dial in his bike for the high altitude. Day one of races was an eye opener, as the altitude and massive hills prove to be a large obsticle for Joe and his yamaha YZ250F to over come against the larger 450 four-strokes. Bad starts plagued the day, forcing Joe to consistantly have to work his way through the pack in every moto. In moto 1 of the Vet Intermediate Div II class, Joe got caught up in a nasty crash after "The Henry Miller Tree" , and was put out of contention to qualify for the main. Moto 2 started off much better, with Joe much closer to the head of the pack. After three laps, Joe was in second and putting the pressure on #163, Robin Mc Clain. Once again though, the Henry Miller Tree proved to be an unlucky location on the track, and Joe when down while trying to make the pass for first place, ending his chances of making the main. The SR. Intermediate class went a little better for Joe. After bad starts in both motos, Joe was able to work back up to 12th and 8th place in the two motos, and a 10th overall on the day. Day two proved to be the scariest day of the week for zettaracing. Joe was involved in a massive crash at the start of the first moto of the Sr. Intermediate class and was hit by several of the other riders. Joe sustained a concussion and a compressed vertebra, ending his racing for the week. The second part of the week was the minis and zettaracing was represented by Eric Zepp, #757, and Christopher Spiers, #818. Mammoth was the first big national for both riders and both were very excited, especially after watching Joe Spiers ride the track the three previous days. Eric raced in the 85cc 12-13 Div II class and Christopher raced in 85cc 9-11 Div II. Both boys felt fast and ready to race. In Eric's first moto, he had a fair start and was in 30th place where he battled with a pack of about 5 other riders. But three laps into the moto, eric got tangled up with another rider and went down. Eric was able to finish the race and ended up 34th overall. The second moto started off better with Eric in 24th place battling with another rider, but in the third lap was taken out by a faster rider moving through the pack, and sustained a concussion, ending his racing for the event. Eric was very disappointed. Christopher Spiers, while not getting hurt, had his share of disappointment as well. Jetting problems plagued him the entire time. On day one, Christopher had a bad start in the first moto, was not able to make it up to 12th place, the last qualifing place that moto for the main event that day. The second moto, after stalling on the start, and running with a poorly running bike, Christopher finished two shy of a qualifing position in tenth, ending his day. Day two went better, but still had its disappointments. After reworking the jetting on Christopher's bike, the bike was still having problems. Christopher got a pretty good start, about 15th, and charged to 13th place within two laps. But then the performace of his bike began to rapidly decline and he was never able to catch the 12th place rider to qualify for the main. His second moto was almost perfect. Christopher grabbed the holeshot and just left the rest of the pack. By the end of the second lap, Christopher had good ten second lead. But once again the jetting came into play and the bike's performace declined rapidly. Christopher lost his ten second lead, eventually was passed, and settled for second place in the moto, but qualified for the main event. Even though Christopher was disgusted with his bike, he was happy to qualify for the main. Time for the Main event. Christopher had a starting gate four from the inside, not great, but could be much worse. Christopher got a decent start and was 15th as they headed down the hill. It was about two laps into the race when we could really tell that his bike was once again not performing, and you could see as he shook his head as he past the pitboard area that he was frustrated. All said and done, Christopher ended up 22nd overall on a bike that limped along at best. One thing for sure, Joe Spiers will become a jetting expert before next year. With all the heartache the zetta endured, Mammoth was still a great experience, and we all hope that the powers that be will be able to figure out how to hold the event again. Thanks to all those that put on the event! Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Sunday, May 30, 2004 Joe Spiers had the honor of lining up next to Rodney Smith, the multi-time champion of about every off-road motorcycle race there is. Needless to say, Joe got schooled for the few laps that he could keep Rodney in sight. Joe did manage to come away with the overall in the +40 Int class for the day and Third overall for the series. Joe also took a third in the +30 Int class for the day, to clinch 2nd overall in the series. Eric Zepp, Daniel Zepp and Christopher Spiers all continued to increase their speed, with Daniel taking 4th overall for the day in the 65 Beg class. Zettaracing would like to thank all those who support them at the races. zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
Saturday, May 15, 2004 Christopher Spiers started off well in the 80C Div, taking a 7th in the first moto, but the second moto slipped away after getting tangled up at the start, crashing and getting run over. He was able to continue after catching his wind, but was only able to recover to mid pack, taking 14th overall. Jim and Eric Zepp continued to increase their speed, and are hoping to be in contention next year. zettaracing wishes to thank all of our sponsors who supported us at this years 36th Annual Hangtown Motocross Classic: zettamoto, BR1 Suspension, Yamaha of Santa Cruz County, and Michelin.
